St Catherines Capture East Cork Junior D Football Championship Title!
Our Junior D footballers captured the Junior D football title in a welter of excitement as they defeated Youghal 3-9 to 2-8 in today's final in Dungourney.
Youghal (who defeated the Saints in a recent round robin game) were the more efficient team in the 1st half and led 2-3 to 0-3 at the short whistle. But the introduction of Dan Mangan (who scored 2-3) along with excellent play from Killian Hickey, Ray Collins & Ciaran Pietropaolo were instrumental in the Saints powering home over a gallant Youghal team.
Congratulations to captain Aaron Neville, the panel of players and the management team led by Liam O Connor on a great win!
Our footballers are also in the Junior B football final where they take on Ballinacurra (date & time TBC) while our Senior Camogie team take on St Finbarrs in tomorrow's county final !
