Yesterday  evening. Our u14 players from Lgfa and camoige came together for a workshop lead by the "Get Ahead of your game campaign.  " followed by a parent information workshop.
We were delighted to welcome Conor Bohane and Laura linnane to our club. Both past and presant County players and now advocates for developing awareness on young people's mental health in clubs accross the country.
 What it involved- ---
Youth Player - HELP OUT A TEAMMATE One-hour, mental health literacy workshop for players. Players learn how to kick off conversations about mental health and gain skills to help a friend who might be going through a tough time.

Parents & Coaches - NO. 1 SUPPORTER One-hour, mental health literacy workshop to help parents develop skills and knowledge to understand, recognize and support the mental health and wellbeing of their teenagers

Both workshops were very successful and the feedback was positive from the players and parents.  We also appreciated that the coaches also gave their time to attend. If we all invest a little bit of our time to our young ladies who are worth every minute. We can only hope they will grow up to be strong enough to ask for help and to be surrounded by friends who look up for eachother positively on and off the pitch.
